DR LAURA DONALDSON (she/her)
Endocrinologist MBBS (Hons) FRACP
Dr Laura Donaldson is an endocrinologist committed to providing patient-centred, individualised care. She has a broad interest across endocrinology and is particularly passionate about supporting people with diabetes, thyroid disorders, obesity, pituitary conditions, and providing gender-affirming care. She welcomes referrals for all aspects of endocrinology.
Dr Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from Monash University and undertook specialist training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Austin Hospital and Northern Hospital before completing her fellowship in endocrinology with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Laura has undertaken research into type 1 diabetes and diabetes technology, with publications in Australian and international journals and presentations at local and overseas conferences. She also holds a clinical appointment in endocrinology at Echuca Regional Health, and having grown up in the country, is dedicated to improving access to high-quality health care for regional communities.
Outside of medicine, Dr Laura enjoys travelling, hiking, spending time at the beach, exploring the latest wine bars, and being outdoors with her dogs.

DR AMANDA COX (she/her)
Endocrinologist BBiomed MBBS MMed FRACP
Dr Amanda Cox is an endocrinologist with a broad interest in all aspects of endocrinology. She has a particular focus on diabetes, obstetric endocrinology, thyroid disorders, menopause, and gender-affirming care, whilst also welcoming all adult general endocrinology referrals.
After completing her medical degree at the University of Sydney, Dr Amanda gained experience working in various hospitals across New South Wales and spent time training overseas in Dublin, Ireland. She returned to Melbourne for specialist training, undertaking endocrinology training at Austin Health, Northern Health, Alfred Health, and St Vincent’s Hospital. She has also completed a Master of Medicine in Metabolic Health, enhancing her expertise in the management of diabetes and the metabolic syndrome.
Dr Amanda is dedicated to providing holistic, patient-centred care, working collaboratively with her patients to develop personalised management plans tailored to their individual needs.
She is deeply committed to ongoing education and professional development, ensuring her patients receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatments. She actively contributes to medical research, has published in leading endocrinology journals, and has presented her findings at national conferences.
Outside of medicine, Amanda enjoys unwinding over good food with family and friends, exploring local live music, and can often be found hiking or cycling on weekends.

DR INGRID BRETHERTON (she/her)
Endocrinologist MBBS PhD FRACP. Principal and founder of Inner North Endocrinology.
Dr Ingrid Bretherton is an endocrinologist and the Principal and Founder of Inner North Endocrinology. She is passionate about providing high-quality, inclusive healthcare to people from all walks of life. She has a special interest in transgender health and bone health, and welcomes all general adult endocrinology referrals.
Dr Bretherton completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide in 2010. She undertook her endocrinology training at Austin Health and Monash Health, and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2017.
She is a medical researcher at the University of Melbourne and completed a PhD investigating the effects of hormone therapy on bone health, body composition, and quality of life in gender diverse Australians. She has received several awards for this work, including the Australian Postgraduate Award and Rowden White Scholarship (University of Melbourne), the Endocrine Society of Australia Travel Award, the US Endocrine Society Early Career Forum Travel Award, and the AMRF Bernie Sweet Fellowship.
Dr Bretherton is a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia Women’s Health Endocrinology Special Interest Group committee and is actively involved in clinical research as both a PhD supervisor and research fellow at the University of Melbourne.
Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, baking, keeping active, and spending time with her husband and two children.

DR MICHELE BARDIN (she/her)
Endocrinologist BSc MBBS FRACP SOMANZ (cert)
Dr. Michele Bardin is an Endocrinologist and Obstetric Medicine Physician. She believes in providing patients with personalised, compassionate, and professional care.
She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Deakin University in 2011. She then completed her specialist physician training in Endocrinology at the Austin/ Northern hospitals and the Royal Melbourne Hospital followed by a two-year fellowship in Obstetric Medicine at the Royal Women’s Hospital in 2018/2019.
Dr Michele has a public hospital appointment at the Northern Hospital in obstetric medicine, obstetric endocrinology. and inpatient diabetes management. She maintains a supervisor role for specialty trainee doctors. Dr Michele is active in medical research and has presented her research findings at state and national conferences. Her special interests include osteoporosis, obesity and diabetes, thyroid disease, obstetric endocrinology and women’s health but welcomes referrals for all endocrinology.
Outside of work Dr Michele loves spending time with her young family, reading Japanese crime thrillers, and staying active with tennis and Pilates.

DR ALICIA JONES (she/her)
Endocrinologist MBBS Hons / BMedSci FRACP PhD
Dr Alicia Jones is an endocrinologist with a passion for delivering comprehensive, personalised care based on best evidence. She graduated from The University of Melbourne with first class honours in 2011, and undertook training at Alfred Health, Western Health and Monash Health, completing specialty training in Endocrinology in 2019.
Dr Alicia completed a PhD in 2024 investigating gaps in care for osteoporosis and early menopause, particularly in rural areas of Australia, and continues to be involved in research via Monash University. She has presented her research at International and National conferences and published multiple journal articles.
Dr Alicia welcomes referrals for all aspects of Endocrinology, but has a special interest in metabolic bone disorders, thyroid diseases and women’s health. She has public appointments at Monash Health and Alfred Health, and is an examiner for Melbourne University and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Dr Alicia has been the recipient of several prestigious awards including a National Health and Medical Research Council postgraduate scholarship, Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society Travel Grant, and an European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases / Agnos Healthcare Young Investigator Award.
Outside of work, Dr Alicia enjoys spending time with her sons and dog, pilates and travel.
