An endocrinologist is an expert in hormones. In other words they are a specialist doctor able to diagnose and treat disorders of the endocrine glands. This includes thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and bone disorders, diabetes as well as any conditions requiring hormone replacement or monitoring. To become an endocrinologist you must complete a medical degree, internship, physician training and then advanced specialist training.

We predominantly specialise in adult endocrinology but can see adolescents in some certain circumstances. We are happy to review the referral and guide you about next steps if we are unable to provide care. We currently are only able to provide gender affirming hormone therapy to adults aged 18 years and older.

This refers to the process for accessing gender affirming hormone therapy and the short answer is yes! There are many instance where the ‘informed consent model’ is the most suitable. of course in some circumstances a specialist mental health practitioner (psychologist or psychiatrist) for ‘WPATH assessment’ may be recommended prior to initiation hormone therapy. Either way we are here to support you and will help you navigate the best path for you so that you can receive supportive and timely care.
